They have three boys, a large cat and small dog. We hope you enjoy worshipping with us and look forward to getting to know you more. Please have a look through our website and see all the exciting opportunities there are in our church community.
Christ Church is a Church of England church in the Diocese of Rochester. We're associated with the New Wine and Willow Creek networks, and we support Youth For Christ outreach locally. We also run regular Alpha courses.
Discovering a life of wholeness and purpose in Jesus Christ
We believe in the love of God for the whole world, expressed most powerfully and clearly in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Through his saving love we are given the opportunity to discover what it means to have an abundant life where every aspect of who we are is transformed into all that God has intended for us.
Our key values:
- The Bible is God’s inspired word, speaking to us today
- Prayer and worship is a priority
- The Holy Spirit empowers us to be disciples of Jesus
- We are called to invite everyone in our community to join us in discovering a life of wholeness and purpose in Jesus Christ

Our History
A New Church is Born
After just over one year of building work, the new church was dedicated by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The church originally had a spire.
Growth Requires a Larger Church
The church was enlarged. The spire at the end was demolished and the present tower was built to one side. The fine ‘Father Willis’ organ was installed.
More Space Needed
The church hall was built to serve the community. During WWI, it was used as a temporary hospital.
Hear and Discover the Good News
The Church Pastoral Aid Society (CPAS) became Patron of Christ Church. CPAS's mission is 'to enable churches to help every person hear and discover the good news of Jesus Christ.'
A Passion For Working Together
Christ Church became a founder member of Churches Together in Chislehurst whose purpose is 'to worship God, share the good news of Jesus Christ and work together for the good of others'.
Questions of Life and Faith
Christ Church ran its first Alpha course which gives people the opportunity to explore life and the Christian faith in a friendly, open and informal environment.
Linking Church Work and Community
In a major development programme, an extension was built to the hall, the hall linked to the church and the church was refurbished, all to provide additional space for the church work and the community.
Gospel Message to Our Community
Today Christ Church is a mixed economy fit for 21st century Christian worship in a variety of ways at different services. The congregation is reaching out to people of all ages and backgrounds to creatively bring the Gospel message to our community.
